Problem with the patch from the Turkish to the English language version

Instructions for Error Resolution

As the result of an error in the deactivation of the Turkish language version, it may be the case that the launcher has stored the English translation in an incorrect folder.

This has been resolved in the latest update. Unfortunately the launcher cannot move files that have already been downloaded. It instead stores the English files in the correct folder with a re-download. To ensure that you do not need to download the files again, the following steps can be taken.

Find AION installation directory (Windows 7)

  • If you know the file path for AION installation, this part can be skipped.
  • Open the Start menu and enter “regedit.exe” in the search box. This will open the registry editor.

  • In the registry menu, select “Edit” and select the menu option “Search”. (Alternatively you can use the key combination CTRL + F)
  • Enter “AION-LIVE” into the search box and select “Find Next” to start the search.
  • Your results should look like this:

  • Listed as “BaseDir” should be the AION installation path.

Move English translation

  • Search for the AION installation and open the folder named “l10n”.
  • Check in the folder “l10n” to see whether the folders “ENG” and “TRK” are present.

IMPORTANT: If the only folder present is “ENG”, you do not have to make any changes!

  • If both folders “ENG” and “TRK” are present, delete the ENG folder.
  • The “TRK” folder now needs to be renamed to “ENG”. Mark the “TRK” folder and press the function key F2 or click on the folder using the right-mouse button and select “Rename” in the context menu.
  • Open the renamed “ENG” folder. This contains the file “TRK.pak”. This file name has to be renamed to “ENG.pak”. Simply mark the file and press the function key F2 or click on the folder using the right-mouse button and select “Rename” in the context menu.
Now the English translation will be in the correct folder and AION Free-to-Play can be launched normally!
