General questions


The following conditions govern the course of the AION Anniversary Competition ('Contest') held by Gameforge 4D GmbH, Albert-Nestler-Straße 8, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany ('Gameforge').

1. Participation period
The contest starts on 29/2/2016 and ends on 21/3/2016 ('Participation period').

2. No participation costs
Participation is free and is not tied to the purchase of goods or services.

3. Eligibility for participation and Participants
(1) All users with an active account at ('Account') who are of full age and resident within the European Union are eligible to participate ('User').
(2) A 'Participant' is any user who participates in one of the following contest categories during the participation period.

4. Contest categories
(1) The aim of the 'Video' contest category is to create an in-game video for
(2) The aim of the 'Fan Art' contest category is to draw a picture either by hand or digitally. Screenshots and photographs may not be used for this purpose.
(3) The aim of the 'Screenshot Comic' contest category is to create a comic or screenshot story with up to ten individual images each.
(4) The theme of the resulting piece must deal with the personal experiences of the participant in Atreia, it must be clearly connected to AION and emailed to ('Entry') with the following subject ([Video], [Fan Art] or [Screenshot Comic]), taking into account the following requirements:
a) The entry must be sent via the email address linked to the account, specifying the relevant game server and character name.
b) Multiple entries as well as participating in multiple contest categories are not permitted.
c) The entry for participation in the 'Fan Art' and 'Screenshot Comic' contest categories must be submitted in .jpg or .png format with a maximum file size of 5 MB.
d) The entry for participation in the 'Video' contest category must be submitted in the form of a hyperlink to a YouTube video. The participant is obligated to adhere to the YouTube terms of use.
e) The corresponding user interface must also be hidden. In particular, no chat messages or third party usernames may be visible.
f) Entries in the 'Video' contest category must also not contain copyrighted music from third parties. This excludes the use of music belonging to and provided by Gameforge.
g) The entry must also be free of other rights of third parties and must conform to the appropriate laws. The participant exempts Gameforge from all claims by third party or in connection with the entry.

5. Winners and Prizes
(1) Gameforge will select one entry in each contest category from all valid entries by 25/03/2016, taking into consideration creativity and originality. 'Winners' are the participants who submitted the entries.
(2) Gameforge will announce the winners by 29/03/2016 using the respective nicknames on its websites and on social media pages operated by Gameforge (together referred to as the 'Gameforge sites'), as well as by informing winners by email via the address used for the entry ('Notification'). Legal recourse in relation to the determination of the winner is excluded.
(3) The winners of the three contest categories will each receive a Roccat Nyth Mouse. In addition, the winners of the 'Video' and 'Fan Art' contest categories will receive in-game prizes according to the announcement. Prizes will be issued on 30/03/2016 via a delivery provider ('Service provider') contracted by Gameforge, and a valid postal address ('Address') within the European Union is required for this purpose. The in-game prizes will be provided in the form of game codes sent via email to the respective winners during the announcement.
(4) The handover of the prizes to the service provider constitutes the handover of the prizes from Gameforge to the winner.
(5) Cash payments and/or payments of the prizes in tangible assets as well as an exchange and/or transfer of the prizes to third parties are all excluded.

6. Usage rights
(1) In accordance with these conditions for participation, Gameforge grants users permission to make screenshots and in-game videos as well as to use the music provided, to the extent that this is necessary for the purposes of participation in the contest. This includes, to the extent necessary, the right to edit and make copies of the results intended for the entry as well as the right to upload a YouTube video.
(2) For the purpose of presenting the entry on the Gameforge sites ('Use'), the participant freely grants Gameforge unrestricted and non-exclusive usage rights for the entry which are unlimited by time or region. This includes the right to edit and make copies, as well as the right to make the entry publicly accessible and to grant further usage rights to third parties, to the extent that this is required for use.
(3) The participant agrees that the provision of the nickname used in the entry is a sufficient descriptor of their authorship in the context of use.

7. Declaration of consent
The participant agrees to the notification in the case of winning as well as the transmission of the address to the service provider for the purposes of delivering the main prize.

8. Data protection
(1) Gameforge will collect, process and use personal data from the participants in the context of data protection legislation exclusively for the purposes mentioned in these conditions for participation.
(2) More detailed information regarding the handling of personal data by Gameforge can be found in the Privacy Policy .

9. Liability
(1) Gameforge, its bodies, employees and agents are liable, irrespective of their legal grounds, solely for intent and gross negligence, however in the event of slight negligence only for the violation of contractual obligations and limited to foreseeable damages, unless this is precluded by mandatory provisions of the applicable law.
(2) The aforementioned restrictions do not apply for injury to life, limb or health.

10. Miscellaneous
(1) By submitting an entry, the participant accepts these conditions for participation. In addition to the conditions for participation, the General Terms & Conditions also apply (referred to jointly as 'the Rules'). To the extent that a participant violates the rules within the participation period, the eligibility for participation may be revoked.
(2) Gameforge reserves the right to end the contest early, provided that its orderly execution cannot be guaranteed, either due to technical or legal grounds.
(3) In the event that individual clauses in these conditions for participation become ineffective, the remaining clauses will remain effective. The ineffective clause will be replaced by the statutory regulation.
